Facebook Messenger app with a big update.

Finally the BIG FISH FACEBOOK MESSENGER made the MOVE. Before pandemic video calls, webinars, virtual meetings, online conferences were limited between professionals from different parts of the world. COVID-19 brought a monstrous leap in the usage of such video conferencing tools even within people belonging to small area. Online learnings, meetings, conferences, INGOs, NGOs, club meetings all started going online, this generated huge user base for such platforms like ZOOM, GOOGLE MEET etc.

Google Meet, from search engine giant GOOGLE are built out of popular text messaging app HANGOUT & hence have a strong foundation. ZOOM came with a very user friendly interfaces; users from any age group, ranging from school goers to oldies easily adopted it & adapted to it. (Took me by surprise when I see my old uncles using it with ease).

Facebook messenger in its latest update, introduced a full fledged desktop messenger app with lots and lots of updates, chat room features & not to miss LIVE streaming feature. In past few days, zoom users faced issues with FB LIVE Streaming. This is where it signaled a something big was about to happen.

In the other hand, ZOOM gives no sign of backing down easily, their stock price as of today, took a jump by 5%. They are bringing in new features, making security much strong with encryption, introducing third party app integrations & also welcoming cross platform developers to create custom apps using their new customizable software developer kit (SDK).

Previously this sort of CLASH OF TITANS between Facebook, Google, Apple, were limited to technical levels, which only developers had to face. Tech Giants have habit of imposing some sorts of restriction to developers from other platform, to provide an edge to their own platform. In simple terms “My Home, My Rules”. Now it’s a public show. The best thing to learn out of it is, “Don’t Stop, Keep Evolving”.
